Background

The MySasol mobile app is a work companion application for Sasol employees and contractors, providing on-the-go access to site-specific information and incident reporting. It makes every day work functions such as; safety reporting, route planning to other sites and accessing latest news updates convenient, putting access to important information in the palm of employee hands.

Research

The development of the product was already in place, so during this process, I did a lot of requirement gathering unpacking. Understanding what has already been implements and going through the design patterns used and leveraging on existing development patterns.

Development

Started analysing the requirements and understand existing development and design patterns used. Ionic Framework was the preferred frame work to develop in as this ensured the efficiency of the product development. Understanding and building on top of existing patterns and ensuring technical feasibility of the UI/UX design. Collaborated with other team members so provide an optimized application for maximum speed and scalability.

QA and Testing

We deployed the application by each feature in the testing environment for QA specialists to star testing functionality of the app. Deploying per feature helped navigate and spot issues in time  and fix any bugs that occurred efficiently. This procedure was continuous until each feature was stable and met business and user goals.
